We reply to the main concerns raised by Bridgewater (2021) in his response Davies et al. (2021a), ‘Towards a Universal Declaration of Rights Wetlands’. appreciate contribution this emerging conversation and, although we disagree with some assessments and statements, do not find points be incompatible support for Wetlands (ROW). This focuses on four areas concern (2021). First, describe why wetlands-specific declaration will add important value other Nature declarations. Second, discuss how ROW does detract from, but rather can contribute complement, existing conservation management approaches mechanisms. Third, agree importance weaving Indigenous local knowledge knowledges emphasise that should confused or misused undermine rights peoples communities. Finally, explain legal have been granted non-humans, including elements Nature, such as wetlands.
